Job Description

The Transportation Specialist is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused non-medical transportation and para-transit services to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transport's dispatch center and the team leader.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification & Licensures
Valid driver's license required.
DOT Medical Examiner's certificate required.


EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or equivalent required within (6) months of hire.
Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver's license.
Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations.
Advanced or Basic First Aid training preferred or company will provide.
BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age.
Experience in the use of handicap aids and wheelchair lift equipment as well as the care and handling of the aged and/or the handicapped client is preferred.
Must maintain a driving record that is acceptable with the company's insurance carrier.
Serves as the primary vehicle operator.
