Who is VMRC?

VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. It also provides wellness programs, educational opportunities, and arts and cultural activities for residents and the wider community.



Pay Range: $16.25 - $20.78 based on previous work experience and qualifications.



Are you a reliable driver who enjoys helping create positive experiences for others? Join VMRC as an Occasional Transportation Driver and play a key role in supporting our community.


You'll provide safe, smooth transportation for residents across our campus, primarily using the Outdoor Shuttle. This includes friendly one-on-one interactions and helping make each trip comfortable and enjoyable.


You'll also drive off-campus to transport residents to Life Enrichment (LE) programs and activities. In addition, you'll work closely with the LE team to support and enhance programs and events, both on and off campus.

Requirements

Licensing & Driving Proficiency: High School, Diploma or equivalent, CDL required; must hold a current Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate VMRC vehicles.

Physical Capabilities & Certifications: Physically able to maneuver in small spaces while performing wheelchair lockdowns. Also, must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 60 days of hire.

Experience & Interpersonal Skills: At least 1 year of experience working with older adults is preferred; a pleasant personality with the ability to collaborate calmly, cooperatively, and professionally with staff, residents, and the public.

Customer Service Orientation: Deliver exceptional, friendly service in person and by phone, while presenting a positive impression of VMRC.

Work Style & Independence: Self-motivated self-starter capable of executing oral/written assignments independently with limited supervision, flexibility for changing priorities, and effective teamwork across campus.
