SUMMARY: The VMI Technician is responsible for replenishing inventory at customer locations while ensuring compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures. This role serves as a key point of contact between the company and the customer, maintaining strong relationships and delivering high service levels. The VMI Technician is accountable for accurate inventory management, equipment upkeep, and enforcing safety protocols, including restricting unauthorized access to warehouse and operational areas.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Personally exhibits, recruits and coaches associates consistent with Core Behaviors
  • Responsible for promoting culture of safety
  • Travels to customer locations to replenish, organize, and maintain inventory within vending machines, crib systems, or designated storage areas.
  • Ensures accurate stocking levels by monitoring usage trends and adjusting inventory as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Performs cycle counts and reconciles inventory discrepancies, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Maintains vending, crib, or inventory equipment in clean and working condition; performs basic troubleshooting and coordinates repairs as needed.
  • Accurately records transactions, inventory movements, and service activities within VMI systems and company platforms.
  • Loads and unloads products safely, ensuring proper handling and transportation of materials.
  • Enforces company safety and security protocols by ensuring carrier drivers and unauthorized personnel are not permitted inside warehouse or controlled operational areas; directs all external personnel to designated areas and escalates non-compliance as needed.
  • Maintains company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Collaborates with internal teams including Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain to support customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve service levels, inventory efficiency, and equipment utilization.
  • Adheres to all OSHA, DOT, and company safety policies, including PPE requirements.
  • Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Strong understanding of inventory management, replenishment processes, and warehouse operations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple locations.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems, mobile applications, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or VMI-related roles.
  • Experience working directly with customers or in field service roles preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:


  • DOT certification may be required based on role responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to travel to customer locations and work in both warehouse and customer site environments.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift items up to 50 pounds.
  • Works in varying conditions, including non-climate-controlled environments with exposure to heat, cold, and noise.
  • Operates company vehicles and warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Must adhere to all safety regulations and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Eye protection, hearing protection, foot protection with metatarsal guard, puncture proof gloves.
