A Day in The Life of a CDL Truck Driver

As a CDL Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. * Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Must have CDL Classification/Certification.  Requires applicable truck driver license for state.

  • Drive a truck with capacity up to three tons and usually six wheels to transport materials
  • Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo
  • Prepare delivery schedule
  • Deliver materials to locations designated by the customer
  • Obtain customer's signature for proof of delivery and help to unload truck
  • Perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries

Education & Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Must have a valid CDL License
  • 2 years required of truck driving experience
  • Forklift Experience

  • Ability to detect or tell differences between sounds varying in pitch and loudness
