Job description

Job Title: Vivarium Technician
Department: Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK)
Location: Exton, PA
Reports To: Vivarium Manager / Study Director


Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Vivarium Technician to support in vivo studies in the DMPK department. The role involves routine animal care, assisting with study procedures, and collecting biological samples while ensuring compliance with study protocols and animal welfare regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily animal husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, cage changing, and health monitoring.
  • Assist with in vivo procedures such as dosing, surgical support, and biological sample collection (e.g., blood, urine, feces, tissues).
  • Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and study procedures according to SOPs and protocols.
  • Monitor animal wellbeing and report abnormalities to the study team or veterinary staff.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant vivarium environment and assist with study preparation, materials, and supply inventory.


Qualifications:

  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelor's degree in Animal Science, Biology, or a related field preferred.
  • ALAT certification or willingness to obtain preferred.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, protocols, and regulatory guidelines (GLP, IACUC).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and holidays as study needs require.
