Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to trauma alerts, conducting initial assessments of patients' conditions to determine priorities for treatment.
• Stabilize patients in critical condition and administer immediate care interventions to prevent further deterioration.
• Participate actively in resuscitation efforts, delivering life-saving procedures under the guidance of attending physicians.
• Conduct thorough physical examinations and interpret laboratory and diagnostic results to develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Administer prescribed medications and manage treatment plans as per physicians' directives, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Assist with invasive procedures, ensuring all protocols for infection control and patient safety are rigorously followed.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding trauma care and post-treatment recovery, fostering understanding and compliance.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, ensuring seamless transitions and continuity of patient management.
• Monitor patient statuses continuously, addressing any emerging issues related to pain management and overall well-being.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of trauma-specific medications and interventions to effectively support patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role at Vital Surgical Center will primarily focus on managing patients with acute trauma and acute medical conditions. You will provide care to a diverse range of patients, from young children to elderly adults, and address various conditions from minor lacerations to severe trauma requiring immediate surgical intervention. The multidisciplinary team approach in our center emphasizes the importance of swift and accurate assessments, treatment, and patient advocacy which is integral to the healing process.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a related field, followed by completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in Colorado.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in emergency medicine or trauma care is preferred, demonstrating expertise in high-pressure scenarios.
• Strong clinical skills in trauma evaluation and treatment, with the ability to perform procedures under supervision effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma assessment and stabilization protocols.
• Skills in effective communication and collaboration within a healthcare team are essential.
• Ability to act quickly and efficiently in emergency situations, maintaining composure and focus at all times.
• Proficiency in electronic health record documentation, ensuring accurate records of patient care and treatment plans.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this full-time Physician Assistant position ranges from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
