Job description:

About The Vita Brevis Club

The Vita Brevis Club is a private members' art club and cultural hub — a gathering place for artists, entrepreneurs, performers, and patrons alike. Our culinary arts team brings this vision to the table, crafting an elevated, hospitality-first experience across dining and curated gatherings. The kitchen sits at the heart of the club, translating refined technique and creative expression into cuisine — including tasting menu-style dining — across a la carte service, private gatherings, and member programming.

Position Summary

The Chef de Partie works closely with the Head Chef to bring precision and artistry to every course, delivering consistent, high-quality execution across a la carte service, tasting menus, private gatherings, and member programming. This role calls for a knowledgeable, reliable chef ready to take ownership of their craft and grow alongside The Vita Brevis Club as its kitchen team continues to take shape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run an assigned station independently, ensuring consistent quality, timing, and plating standards across service.
  • Execute tasting menu courses with precision, including component prep, plating, and course timing.
  • Partner with the Head Chef on menu execution for a la carte service, private gatherings, and member programming.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff assigned to the station.
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance across the station and kitchen.
  • Manage station-level inventory, prep lists, and ordering needs.
  • Uphold consistent quality control and plating standards across all dishes leaving the station.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house teams to align on timing, special requests, and member preferences.

Qualifications

  • Culinary school graduate or equivalent hands-on training.
  • 2 years line cook or station experience in a fine dining kitchen.
  • Tasting menu experience required.
  • Reliable with strong attendance and follow-through.
  • Ready to take ownership of a station and grow into greater kitchen leadership as the team builds out.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety required.
  • Able to work Wednesday through Saturday, with flexibility for events.
  • A collaborative, calm-under-pressure approach suited to a private club, member-first environment.

Compensation & Benefits

$70,000–$80,000/year, plus 2-months paid vacation per calendar year. Medical, dental, and vision benefits.

Benefits:

  • Dental insurance
  • Employee discount
  • Health insurance
  • Paid sick time
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
