Job Description

Looking for a seasoned front-end web developer to work on an analytics project for elastic-driven data visualizations primarily using D3.js. The Data Visualization Developer will create interactive graphics packages for legal data, build graphics tools, confer on visualization-related architecture options and alternatives, mentor/train developers in D3 and resulting APIs, and work closely with parallel designers/developers of visualizations on the UX team.

Candidates should have strong organizational skills, an interest in data and how to visualize it in a meaningful way, and the ability to integrate results into enterprise, services-driven, products and frameworks.

Candidates must demonstrate a genuine understanding of design although the focus of this role is the development of visualizations including visualization interactions, response to changes in the data (such as faceting), and integration with the ecosystem.

Qualifications

Mastery of D3 (multiple visualizations, binding, facets/filters, performance), AngularJS, and preferred experience with Google Analytics, Bootstrap, and Google Web Toolkit.

  Experience with Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, JSON, and XML 

Version control system (TFS and GIT) experience and preferably package management system (Bower) experience.

  Experience with AWS and on-prem clouds for deployment. 

Familiarity with back-end web technologies and services including Elastic. 

The ability to collaborate with others is essential. The job requires working with graphics colleagues in UX, content development, platform development, and other products which may leverage the visualization tools and/or framework.

  Excellent mentoring abilities. 

Knowledge of Accessibility/WCAG2.0 compliance preferred. 

Knowledge of or interest in data pertaining to the U.S. legal process a plus.
