Job description

Project Manager – Dallas, Texas Region

Build Great Projects. Lead Great Teams. Grow With RPM AVS.

At RPM AV Services, we don’t just install audiovisual technology—we create experiences that help businesses communicate, collaborate, and connect. For more than 30 years, our family-owned company has built a reputation for quality workmanship, certified expertise, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Texas team and take ownership of commercial AV projects from planning through completion.

This is an opportunity for someone who understands what it takes to execute a successful AV installation in the field—and who is ready to bring that experience to a larger leadership role. You’ll work closely with our technicians, integrators, project stakeholders, and leadership team to make sure projects are properly planned, efficiently executed, and delivered to RPM’s standards.

If you’re the person who naturally looks ahead, solves problems before they become problems, and knows how to bring people together to get the job done, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Manager, you’ll be the connection between the project plan and what actually happens in the field. You’ll have a hands-on role in preparing projects, supporting technicians, managing resources, and keeping projects moving toward successful completion.

  • Own project execution by coordinating people, equipment, materials, schedules, and resources from project kickoff through completion.
  • Plan ahead by working with integrators and project stakeholders to ensure drawings, equipment, materials, tools, ladders, and other resources are ready before work begins.
  • Lead from the field by directing and supporting technician crews, removing obstacles, and helping teams work safely, efficiently, and professionally.
  • Be visible on-site through regular project visits, providing leadership, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring installation quality meets RPM standards.
  • Drive quality by reviewing installation work, identifying potential issues early, and ensuring projects are completed correctly the first time.
  • Develop people by mentoring technicians, building strong working relationships, and helping team members grow their technical and professional skills.
  • Stay ahead of problems by anticipating delays, resource constraints, scheduling challenges, and field conditions—and developing solutions before they impact the project.
  • Keep communication moving by collecting, reviewing, and distributing daily project reports and ensuring key information reaches the right people.
  • Maintain project visibility by keeping RPM’s project management system current with schedules, progress, issues, labor, and other project information.
  • Manage labor and productivity by reviewing technician timesheets, correcting discrepancies, and tracking project labor against budget.
  • Protect the schedule and the budget by monitoring project progress and taking action to keep work aligned with established timelines and financial goals.
  • Track project progress by updating percentage-of-completion reporting by labor category and maintaining accurate project information each week.
  • Lead with accountability by reinforcing RPM’s standards, processes, safety expectations, and commitment to exceptional customer service.

  • What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for more than someone who can manage a schedule. We want an experienced AV professional who can lead people, understand the work, and make good decisions in the field.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably within commercial AV or a related construction environment.
    • 5+ years of hands-on commercial AV installation experience
    • Strong knowledge of custom AV mounting solutions, sub-mounts, and equipment installation.
    • Experience leading, training, and mentoring technicians.
    • The ability to confidently read and interpret AV drawings, wiring diagrams, bid documents, and project documentation.
    • A broad understanding of commercial AV equipment, installation methods, and system infrastructure.
    • Experience working with equipment and platforms commonly used in commercial AV environments.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Windows, and standard business technology.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, customers, integrators, vendors, and leadership.
    • A friendly, flexible, approachable leadership style with the confidence to hold people accountable when necessary.
    • A proactive mindset—you naturally look ahead, identify risks, and find solutions.

  • Qualifications That Will Set You Apart

The following certifications and experience are highly valued:

    • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I
    • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
    • Experience with all-thread and Unistrut structural systems
    • Experience with commercial AV mounting and construction
    • Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Harman, Chief, or QSC training/certifications
    • Experience managing complex commercial AV installations from kickoff through closeout

    Why RPM AVS?

You’re not just taking another job. You’re building what comes next.

RPM AVS is a growing, family-owned company with more than 30 years of industry experience. Our continued growth creates opportunities for people who want to take on greater responsibility, develop their leadership skills, and build a long-term career in the AV industry.

At RPM, we believe great companies are built by great people. That’s why our culture is grounded in five core values:

Service Attitude • Drive • Mentoring Others • Integrity • Family Culture

    We offer:

    • A growing company with real career opportunities — RPM has experienced approximately 30% year-over-year growth.
    • Competitive compensation and benefits designed to attract and retain top industry talent.
    • Aggressive paid training initiatives that invest in your technical and professional development.
    • Opportunities to work on innovative commercial AV projects across a variety of industries.
    • A culture that values mentorship, accountability, teamwork, and personal growth.
    • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on projects, people, and the continued growth of RPM AVS.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you’re an experienced AV professional who is ready to move beyond simply managing projects and wants to lead teams, solve problems, develop people, and help deliver exceptional projects, RPM AVS may be the place for you.

Bring your experience. Bring your leadership. Bring your drive.

    Let’s build what’s next—together.
