The ideal candidate should have a passion for outdoor activities andย possessย excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ย 

We are seeking aย Visual Retail Key Holderย to join our team. The Key Holder willย be responsible forย managing the store during scheduled shifts,ย openingย and closing the store, handlingย cashย and credit card transactions, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service to our valued customers. In addition, this role plays a key part inย maintainingย visual merchandising standards to ensure the store environment reflects Backcountryโ€™s brand and creates an engaging shopping experience.ย 

This role is challenging โ€“ย above and beyondย the day-to-dayย responsibilities,ย youโ€™llย haveย a big roleย within a fast-paced team.ย ย 

This position willย reportย toย theย Retail Store Manager.ย 

What you get to do every day:
  • Assist the Store Manager in opening and closing the storeโ€ฏ
  • Ensure the store is properly secured and alarm systems are functioning correctlyโ€ฏ
  • Manage cash and credit card transactions, and perform daily cash reconciliationsโ€ฏ
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct regular inventory audits, and report any discrepancies to the store managerโ€ฏ
  • Provide exceptional customer service, and assist customers with their purchases, product inquiries, and returns/exchangesโ€ฏ
  • Maintain a clean, organized and attractive store appearanceโ€ฏ
  • Support visual merchandising standards by assisting with floor moves, display updates, and ensuring product presentation aligns with brand direction
  • Assist in the execution of and ensure daily tasks are completedโ€ฏ
  • Train and mentor new team membersโ€ฏ
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager and Assistant Store Managerโ€ฏย 
What you bring to the role:
  • High school diploma or equivalentโ€ฏ
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail sales or customer serviceโ€ฏ
  • Previous visual merchandising experience or strong eye for presentation is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skillsโ€ฏ
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyโ€ฏ
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment ย 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidaysย 
  • Basic computer skills, and experience with Point-of-Sale systems is a plusโ€ฏย 
Physical Requirements:ย 
  • Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customers
  • Ability to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time
  • Ability to move about the store coaching and directing associates; selling to customers and retrieving merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
  • Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve and replenish merchandise from stockroom or sales floor
  • Ability to lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and/or move merchandise
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse to accomplish work
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Regular and predictable attendanceย
