Visual media refers to any form of content that is primarily perceived through sight, such as photographs, videos, illustrations, graphic designs, and digital images. It encompasses various platforms and formats, including television, film, social media, advertising, and online content. Professionals in visual media use creative and technical skills to communicate ideas, tell stories, or convey information visually. This field is essential in marketing, entertainment, journalism, education, and many other industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in visual media?

To thrive in Visual Media, you need a strong understanding of design principles, visual storytelling, and proficiency in image and video creation, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. Key responsibilities

  • Own photography, videography, editing, and publishing across official social channels

  • Travel with the CEO to capture speaking engagements, interviews, awards, office visits, and meaningful meetings

  • Develop and produce content around key pillars such as founder story, entrepreneurship, global perspective, and human moments

Job description

Replit is the agentic software creation platform that enables anyone to build applications using natural language. With millions of users worldwide, Replit is democratizing software development by removing traditional barriers to application creation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Office of the CEO works directly with Amjad Masad and CEO leadership to advance Replit's strategy, external presence, and long-term positioning. This role sits at the intersection of the Office of the CEO and Replit's Brand and Creative function, with a singular focus: building personal presence into one of the defining founder voices of the AI era.

The Executive Social Media Specialist will build an intentional, premium, long-term strategy across visual channels, primarily Instagram. This is an all-in-one creative operator role, not a traditional social media manager. You will travel and capture meaningful moments as they happen, edit quickly, and publish polished content without relying on a larger production team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own photography, videography, editing, and publishing across official social channels
  • Travel with the CEO to capture speaking engagements, interviews, awards, office visits, and meaningful meetings as they happen
  • Identify and produce content around the pillars that have proven to resonate: founder story and personal journey, entrepreneurship and company building, global perspective and cultural identity, and human founder moments
  • Develop premium, documentary-style storytelling that favors real moments over manufactured content
  • Build out a presence on Instagram and other visual mediums through premium photography, documentary-style video, and behind-the-scenes storytelling
  • Maintain quality and brand guardrails, prioritizing credibility and long-term influence over trend-chasing, gimmicks, or a high-volume creator posting cadence
  • Partner closely with Replit's Marketing and Communications teams while remaining focused on distinct personal brand
  • Move from concept to final execution independently, with strong creative judgment and a fast turnaround
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Proven experience producing premium photography and video content for an executive, founder, public figure, or creator, ideally including hands‑on shooting and editing
  • A portfolio demonstrating documentary‑style storytelling, not just short‑form trend content
  • Comfort and flexibility with travel, as the role involves capturing real‑world moments and appearances
  • Strong judgment on tone and positioning, able to distinguish content that builds long‑term credibility from content that chases short‑term engagement
  • Ability to work independently across the full production cycle: capture, edit, and publish
  • Familiarity with platform‑specific storytelling across Instagram and other visual, photo‑ and video‑first mediums
  • Discretion and professionalism given close proximity to executive and personal moments
  • Experience building a personal or executive brand from an early stage is a strong plus
CONTRACT ENGAGEMENT INCLUDES
  • Competitive contract rate, with compensation
  • Direct, high‑visibility partnership with Replit's CEO and Office of the CEO
  • Autonomous work environment with fast decision‑making and minimal bureaucracy

This is a contract role and does not offer full time benefits.

Full‑Time Employee Benefits Include:
  • Competitive Salary & Equity
  • 401(k) Program with a 4% match (US Only)
  • Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance
  • Short Term and Long Term Disability
  • Paid Parental, Medical, Caregiver Leave
  • Flexible Time Off (FTO) + Holidays
  • Commuter Benefits (In‑Office & US Only)
  • Monthly Wellness Stipend
  • Autonomous Work Environment
  • In Office Set‑Up Reimbursement (In‑Office Only)
  • Quarterly Team Gatherings
  • In Office Amenities (In‑Office Only)
