Job description

Job Summary:
3 positions available 
7.31.26-10.26.26
($550 each) to support the FHS Marching Band. 



To assist the visual director and marching band directors in growing the competitive marching band program in the part of the visual program: marching and body movement techniques.
Qualifications:
Experience working with marching band or drum corps programs
Ability to work as a team member and independently
Strong organization and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal skills for both internal and external communications
Positive attitude
Maintain the integrity and positivity of the marching band program
Essential Functions:
Maintains and utilizes leadership qualities that include maturity, professionalism, discipline, encouragement, respect, an understanding of adolescent needs and a student focused philosophy.
Attend rookie camp in June and full band camp and rehearsals in August. Other outside rehearsals/performances are encouraged.
Implement marching/body movement technique in an ensemble or sectional setting.
Teach and clean visual aspects of the show: drill, marching, dancing, etc.
Assist Marching Band Director and maintain knowledge of current best practice in visual program to continue Farmington's progress toward successfully competing with the region's most highly-regarded marching programs.
Nominal Stipend:
The district will pay the coach a fixed stipend as delineated in the Tiger Athletic, Arts, and Activities (TAAA) matrix, Column H
The stipend amount is considered a "nominal stipend".  The amount of the stipend will not change based on the number of daily hours that are devoted to coaching/advisor duties or the team's level of success.  If team enrollment is not met, the district may make staffing reductions that reflect program level offerings within the first two weeks of the program.  Any service provided during this two week timeframe will be paid on a weekly pro-rated basis.   In addition, if the selected candidate is unable to fulfill coaching/advising duties for five or more days, the stipend paid will be pro-rated.
