Visual Designer- Geo & Sustainability

Seattle, WA (Hybrid-Tuesโ€“Thurs in office, Mon & Fri remote)

03+ Months contract

About the Role

We're looking for a Visual Designer to join our Geo team, where we build products that help people understand and navigate the world โ€” including features that support environmental and sustainability insights. In this role, you'll shape the visual identity of our products and marketing assets, ensuring a cohesive, polished brand experience across every surface people interact with.

You'll craft innovative visual solutions to real user, product, and business challenges โ€” not just making things beautiful, but making thoughtful, rigor-driven design decisions that scale across a growing design system.

What You'll Do

  • Create polished product assets and marketing support materials that maintain a consistent, holistic brand across multiple surfaces and platforms
  • Apply, adapt, and define visual design frameworks โ€” principles, patterns, and systems
  • Develop mock-ups and prototypes using industry-leading design tools to bring product vision to life
  • Build design proposals that balance short-term execution with long-term scalability, factoring in visual hierarchy, saliency, and accessibility
  • Generate multiple visual directions for any given problem and clearly articulate the rationale behind your recommended approach
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert in visual design โ€” typography, color, iconography, imagery, layout, and marketing asset creation
  • Partner closely with engineers, product managers, and fellow UX designers to advocate for design and brand quality, influencing how it's implemented

Top Skills

  • Strong command of visual design fundamentals: typography, color, layout, iconography
  • Deep experience in brand application and design systems
  • Sharp aesthetic sensibility and advanced craftsmanship
  • Working knowledge of product design principles
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills
  • Systems thinking, with an understanding of user behavior and interactive technology

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in visual design or a closely related field
  • Degree in UX Design, Visual Design, Visual Communications, or a related discipline
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and/or comparable design tools
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating visual design range and a deep understanding of visual and interaction design principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
