Systems Engineer 2 - (RF, Python, Visual Basic)

Clearance: TS/SCI - Polygraph required
Position ID: 08-8841-SE2
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland

Description:

Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.

Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.

Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Responsible for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288, including technical, project, enterprise, and agreement process areas.

Position Required Skills:

  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
  • Strong experience applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
  • Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc.)
  • Formulating and documenting test plans
  • Drafting and issuing technical recommendations through formal test reports
  • Specifying and/or reviewing system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit
  • Collaborating with internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements

Position Desired Skills:

  • Experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and/or antenna calibration.

System Engineer-2 Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.

High School Diploma or GED plus four (4) years of general system engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline may be substituted for one (1) year of systems engineering experience.

PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline may be substituted for three (3) years of systems engineering experience.

Salary Range: **$131k-$160k (Annually)

**The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
