We have an exciting job opportunity for a Visitor Services Associate at Mark Arts. This position will work to cultivate community, and the ideal candidate should have a love for arts administration and experience working in a client facing capacity. The Visitor Services Associate will also manage the gift shop and assist with class and membership enrollments.
The Visitor Services Associate at Mark Arts is primarily responsible for providing a friendly and welcoming environment to all internal and external customers/visitors/staff members. This position sits at the reception desk and is the first person who greets everyone who visits Mark Arts.
Work Hours & Pay:
- Schedule: Full-time typically Tuesday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Occasional evening or special event shifts may be required.
- Pay Range: $15.00 - $17.50/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Welcome and assist students, instructors, and visitors. Handle phone inquiries related to programs, exhibitions, and events.
- Registration & Sales: Accept membership registrations, help with class/workshop enrollments, and assist with gift shop and exhibition sales.
- Exhibition Oversight: Monitor gallery activities to ensure art safety and track daily attendance.
- Exhibition Data Entry: Prepares object label copy, wall texts, content guides, Shopify content, catalog entries and processing monthly gift shop and exhibition artist commissions.
- Gift Shop: Oversees consignment agreements, product inventory, creating labels and returning unsold items to artists.

Physical Requirements:
- The employe must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or/more objects up to 25 pounds.
- Active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and climbing.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Comfortable with Excel spreadsheet formulas
- Familiarity with a multi-line phone system.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of client-facing work experience in a professional environment, with a strong interest in arts programming.
Work Environment:
Mark Arts offers a dynamic, arts-focused environment with a variety of art studios, exhibition spaces, and an event center. The position requires both interaction with the public and administrative duties.
