Job Description:
UToledo Health and the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences has an academic faculty position opening for a Hematology/Oncology Physician in the Department of Medicine.
The Division of Hematology Oncology provides patient care in the inpatient and outpatient setting, teaching of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as opportunities for research. We seek a diverse pool of applicants who wish to join an academic community that places the highest value on rigorous inquiry and encourages diverse perspectives and experiences. The physician hired will have a faculty appointment at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences with the appointment commensurate with the candidate's credentials.
Position Highlights:
  • Benign and malignant hematology and medical oncology practice in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Practice within an academic teaching hospital, working with hematology/medical oncology fellows, resident, and medical students
  • Presence of local multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaborative specialty and subspecialty services
  • Opportunity to participate in clinical and/or basic research
  • Opportunity to participate in program development and quality initiatives
  • Strong referral network throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan in addition to primary care practices through UToledo Health

Responsibilities:
  • Provide benign and malignant hematology and medical oncology care through diagnosis, treatment, management and surveillance
  • Management of inpatient, primarily through consultations for hematology/medical oncology, in rotation with division colleagues
  • Adhere to departmental policies, quality improvement initiatives, safety standards, infection-control practices, and institutional objectives.
  • Participate in educational programs within the Division of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Medicine within the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, at the University of Toledo
  • Engage in clinical research
