Job description

SpaceXAI's mission is to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. Our team is small, highly motivated, and focused on engineering excellence. This organization is for individuals who appreciate challenging themselves and thrive on curiosity. We operate with a flat organizational structure. All employees are expected to be hands-on and to contribute directly to the company's mission. Leadership is given to those who show initiative and consistently deliver excellence. Work ethic and strong prioritization skills are important. All employees are expected to have strong communication skills. They should be able to concisely and accurately share knowledge with their teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The X Developer Platform team owns the partner ecosystem that connects X with B2B and B2C developers around the world. X reaches more than 500 million active users who produce billions of posts every week, and that activity generates signals and capabilities that go far beyond a conversation to listen to: real-time knowledge of what is happening in the world, rich media, commerce, communities, and the connective tissue between people, businesses, and now agents. Our job is to make that value available to developers as the everything API, so that anyone can build products on top of X.

Our mission is to help achieve the X Everything app and make X the clear digital townsquare of Earth. We do this by making X data and functionality available through a consistent and reliable API suite, so that developers and the emerging world of agents can realize its full potential. Behind the scenes we collect, process, enrich, and deliver hundreds of billions of signals a day. The products we build are highly available, scalable, optimized, respectful of X's user base, and essential to the customers who depend on them. We work closely with our Product and Business counterparts and directly with customers to shape what we build next.

X Developer API Products Include:

  • Real-time delivery of public posts and events, filtered and enriched to match each customer's use case
  • Search and retrieval across the full historical archive of public content on X
  • APIs for creating, publishing, and managing content and interactions programmatically
  • Engagement, audience, and performance data that powers analytics and measurement products
  • Enrichment layers that add context, structure, and relevance signals to raw platform data
  • Interfaces designed for programmatic consumers, enabling agents and automated systems to read from and act on the platform safely
  • Developer tooling, documentation, and self-serve onboarding that make the platform easy to adopt and integrate
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with engineering, product leadership, business leadership, and engineers across the company.
  • Maintain and improve the systems that serve our existing customers while designing and shipping new products that expand what the platform can do.
  • Design clean, reliable, well-abstracted solutions to problems of scale, correctness, and developer experience.
  • Help shape the architecture of the platform as it grows to serve new categories of consumers, including agents and automated systems.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • MS or BS in Computer Science
  • 5+ years of industry experience working on commercial software application or services
  • Distributed Systems experience (Kafka experience is a plus)
  • Experience working with RPC frameworks and microservices
  • Understanding of core CS concepts, such as, common data structures and algorithms
  • Experience with front-end development technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$180,000 - $440,000 USD

Base salary is just one part of our total rewards package at xAI, which also includes equity, comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short & long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and various other discounts and perks.
