Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Design Engineer to join our Geostructural Design Group in our Quakertown, PA office. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your technical skills and gain hands-on experience by working closely with, and learning from, experienced PE's on a wide range of complex geotechnical and geostructural design projects.

We are looking for a motivated engineer who is eager to expand their design knowledge, contribute to real-world solutions, and be part of a collaborative team environment that emphasizes mentorship and professional development.

Geotechnical Designer Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of segmental retaining walls.
  • Assist in the design of support of excavation systems.
  • Support engineered slope and global stability evaluations.
  • Perform geotechnical analyses including lateral earth pressures, slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, reports, and construction documents.
  • Develop plan details and sections using AutoCAD.
  • Participate in subsurface investigations and interpret soil data for design use.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers during construction.

Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (required).
    • Actively pursuing E.I.T. certification (required).
    • Basic understanding of soil mechanics and foundation engineering.
    • Exposure to retaining wall or slope stability concepts (coursework acceptable).
    • Basic AutoCAD experience.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
