Job description

We are seeking a Lead Stress Engineer to spearhead our structural analysis team. In this role, you will lead an engaged, dynamic team to provide design input, and perform stress analysis on diverse aircraft modifications and repairs in support of related FAA structural approvals. 

Responsibilities:

  •  Drive Structural Integrity: Lead Finite Element Analysis (FEA) supported by classical hand calculations for structural evaluation across static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue, and non-linear loading conditions.
  •  Champion the Team: Directly oversee and review the analytical deliverables of junior and mid-level stress analysts, championing a culture of peer-review and technical continuous improvement.
  • Bridge Theory & Reality: Formulate validation test plans and integrate physical test data (strain gauges, shock, vibration) with analytical models / reports.
  • Engage Key Stakeholders: including FAA representatives, staff, consultants, and customers.  Relationships are key in our industry, and your positive impact is critical.
  • Optimize & Automate: Spearhead the development and deployment of stress analysis approaches to improve time to define analysis approach, perform analysis, and gain related FAA approvals

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of progressive engineering experience in structural or stress analysis, with a demonstrated history of leading engineering development cycles.
  • Advanced, independent expert proficiency in NASTRAN, and FEMAP
  • Exceptional technical communication skills—the ability to translate simulation data into clear, actionable risks and deliverables for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience with FAA regulations in support of Repair Specifications.
