Job description

Plastics Extrusion Process Technician

Wadsworth, OH

RTUS (Rep the US) is a trusted independently owned name in food & beverage disposables for over 75 years and the exclusive manufacturer of biodegradable AgaveX products.

We are seeking motivated full-time Plastics Extrusion Process Technicians (2nd and 3rd Shifts) to support and optimize plastic extrusion production lines. This role is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and improving key production systems to ensure efficiency, quality, and minimal downtime.

Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: 2 pm-10 pm (Monday-Friday)
  • 3rd Shift: 10 pm-6 am (Sunday-Thursday Night)

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience operating plastic and extrusion lines (preferred but not required)
  • Experience with line startup, troubleshooting, and process optimization
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities:

  • Start up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion production equipment
  • Monitor and maintain systems including extruder hot runner systems, chillers, thermolators, and automated packaging equipment
  • Identify and proactively resolve potential production issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend solutions to prevent recurring problems
  • Troubleshoot mechanical components of plastic extrusion lines
  • Execute initial startup and ensure smooth operation of production lines
  • Collaborate with leadership to improve processes and efficiency
