Vision Care Assistants typically help with a range of tasks including greeting patients, conducting preliminary eye tests, assisting with frame selection, and maintaining patient records. They often prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is sanitized and ready for use. In addition, Vision Care Assistants may support the optometrist during eye exams and help patients understand how to care for their eyewear, making strong communication and organizational skills essential for success in this role.

Vision Care Assistants are healthcare professionals who support optometrists, ophthalmologists, and other eye care specialists in clinical settings. Their duties typically include conducting preliminary eye tests, assisting patients with eyewear selection, maintaining patient records, and ensuring equipment is clean and ready for use. They play a crucial role in helping eye care practices run efficiently and in providing a positive experience for patients. Vision Care Assistants may also educate patients about eye health, contact lens care, and post-exam instructions.
