CABVI is seeking an experienced Director of Training to develop and implement training programs within CABVI to improve agency and individual performance and productivity. Additionally, this role functions as a liaison between training, subject-matter experts and business units.
Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs through a needs analysis. Recommend appropriate training that align with the agency’s culture and strategic goals.
- Assist with career plan development and implementation for CABVI employees.
- Develop and implement effective training curriculums and refresher classes, based on employee needs in collaboration with internal and external subject-matter experts. Works to keep training programs vibrant and entertaining in order to engage employees.
Collaborate with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
Compile post training evaluation data to identify how programs are received and if changes/improvements are needed.
- Develop monitoring systems to ensure that all employees are performing job responsibilities according to training. Track and maintain training metrics necessary with respect to the progress, performance, work habits and attendance of trainees.
- Develop a process for the logistics of training including scheduling, room reservation, registration and scheduling of trainers.
Effectively manage the training budget.
Keep an inventory of training materials and resources such as books (i.e., hard and soft copies).
Develop and continuously update training policy and guidelines both for classroom and online training.
Support performance management in terms of PIP, development of learning plans and/or metrics.
Develop e-learning courses for blended and online learning through the use of Camtasia, and Dawn Platform.
Support and suggest enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, retention, upward mobility, and/or meet the organization’s changing needs.
Perform project management for current and future departmental HR related projects. Work on ad-hoc projects as needed.
Requirements Include:
- Bachelor’s in business, human resources, education or related field.
- Minimum of ten years proven experience in a training capacity. Formal training certificates or advance degree preferred. HR certification a plus.
- Proven track record of establishing training programs. Familiarity with Harvard Managementor System helpful.
- Travel required between work locations, as needed.
- Must be proficient Microsoft Office Suite and be willing to stay up-to-date with changing technology. Working knowledge of adaptive software preferred.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Comfortable talking and presenting to a group.
- Must be able to write procedure manuals and have the ability to engage trainees in discussions during educational sessions.
