Loomis At Your Door - Loomis' own Home & Community Based Service Agency has immediate openings for Part Time and Per Diem shifts for Home Care Assistants (HHA/CNAs).
Some weekend and holiday availability required.

Summary Description:
As a care partner, the Home Care Assistant is responsible for assisting with a variety of personal care services and homemaker tasks that support and enhances the person's desire to live at home safely with dignity, independence and choice The services provided will optimize the level of physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual wellness or wellbeing. The Home Care Assistant and Companion work independently under the direction of the home care director with clinical support from the community's Nurse. Must maintain a caring attitude towards residents at all times and be capable of good judgment in all situations.
Essential Functions:
  • Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of The Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program
  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitudes, behavior and services
  • Interacts with residents by providing direct personal care, medication reminders, escorts, transportation, shopping and supportive homemaker services for residents to promote independence and choice
  • Maximizes residents' overall wellbeing through knowledge of residents' interests and using that knowledge to encourage residents to continue engaging in pursuits that foster continued wellness
  • Attends to the wellbeing of residents and includes residents in decision making regarding their care in accordance with a personalized plan of care/service plan. Supports residents in daily living decision making regarding care and services in accordance with established service plans
  • Maintains and completes required documentation
  • Provides clear, timely communication related to changes in health, emotion and behaviors to direct supervisor
  • Meets educational, training and competency requirements on time including SAMMS
  • Responds to emergency situations in a prompt and calm manner and provides basic first aid care when needed within the limits of training and the policies of The Loomis Communities

Required Education:
High School Graduate
Preferred Education:
Nursing or other health related undergraduate programs
Required Experience:
Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide
Preferred Experience:
Six months previous experience working with some type of long term care client, Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Home Health Aide
License:
  • Massachusetts Driver's License- REQUIRED
  • Certified Nursing Assistant
  • CPR Certified
