Job description

APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company looking to add a Mold Maker / Mold Repair Technician to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be building, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plastic injection molds while ensuring tooling operates efficiently and meets quality standards. What your day will look like:
  • Construct, rebuild, troubleshoot, and repair plastic injection molds
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and CAD designs
  • Analyze tolerances and verify conformance using precision measuring instruments
  • Assemble mold components using hand and power tools
  • Perform spotting and assembly of cavity and core components
  • Grind and bench surfaces to minimize tooling flaws
  • Create special machined details on manual machines as needed
  • Install and test mold components to ensure proper functionality
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on existing molds
  • Disassemble, clean, and troubleshoot molds in a safe and methodical manner
  • Operate overhead crane and hi-lo equipment
  • Maintain quality, safety, and housekeeping standards throughout the facility
What we are looking for:
  • High School Diploma required
  • 3–8 years of mold making and/or mold repair experience preferred
  • Experience with plastic injection molds required
  • Blueprint reading and mold construction knowledge required
  • CAD and VISI software experience is a plus
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience using measuring instruments including calipers, gauges, and micrometers
  • Welding experience is a plus
  • Must have own tools
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods of time
