Job description

EDM Programmer/Operator
Shift: 6:00 AM Start Time
Pay: $20/hr
Contract: Contract-to-Hire

We are looking for an experienced EDM Programmer/Operator to join our tooling group in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has hands-on EDM experience, strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality tooling components.

The EDM Programmer/Operator will support tooling operations by designing and programming electrodes, operating EDM equipment, and working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design precision electrodes using Visi Tooling CAD software based on project data 
  • Program electrodes using Visi CAM software 
  • Prepare and set up electrode blanks, including mounting into Erowa holders 
  • Operate Makino CNC electrode cutting machines 
  • Load, locate, and burn components using Makino sinker EDM machines 
  • Support tooling projects by troubleshooting and maintaining quality standards 
  • Utilize Erowa electrode feeding robots and automation systems when applicable 
  • Complete daily production tracking and data entry using Epicor ERP system 
  • Maintain organized documentation and project information 

Requirements

  • Previous EDM Operator experience required 
  • Experience supporting tooling and manufacturing operations 
  • Background in production and/or prototype environments 
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred 
  • Experience with EDM programming and setup processes 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects 
  • High School Diploma or GED required 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Visi CAD/CAM software 
  • Experience operating Makino sinker EDM machines and CNC electrode cutting equipment 
  • Familiarity with Erowa tooling and automation systems 
  • Experience with Epicor ERP or similar manufacturing software systems
