JOB LOCATION : Main Campus
DEPARTMENT: VIRTUAL SUPPORT SERVICES
SCHEDULE: Full Time, 12 HR Evening Shift, 10:30am- 11:00pm
POSITION SUMMARY
The Virtual Nurse will provide and coordinate exceptional patient care via video conferencing and telephone communication, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Virtual Nurse will collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team to perform admission intake, patient education, and discharge planning. The Virtual Nurse will perform real-time chart reviews and audits to minimize errors and mitigate prolonged discharges to ensure positive patient care experiences. This role will aid SGMC Health in maintaining up-to-date healthcare options for a dynamic patient population.
EDUCATION
  • Current, unencumbered RN License in State of Georgia, or compact state licensure.
  • CPR required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Proficient in EMR technology (EPIC strongly preferred), Microsoft Office
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to work well individually and as a team leader or member.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and, adapt to new situations, think critically, manage priorities and utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies, standards, and think critically evaluating patient care issues.
  • Strong clinical nursing skills in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with, and care for diverse population of patients/family units of all ages, a variety of cultures, and/or persons occasionally exhibiting stressed behaviors.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPPA and the importance of data security.
WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION
Works primarily in hospital office setting. Substantial sitting, standing, stooping, bending, lifting (not to exceed 25 lbs.) and pushing objects. At times may be subject to high levels of stress. Requires considerable mental effort and logical thought processing.
