Data Entry Operator I**ONSITE***

Location: Portland, OR
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:30 am-2:00 pm
Assignment Length: Long-term temporary assignment anticipated through the end of 2027


Position Summary

Kelly® is hiring Data Entry Operators to support a large-scale document digitization project for U.S. Bank in Portland, OR. This long-term assignment is expected to continue through the end of 2027 and offers the opportunity to work in a structured, fast-paced production environment.

Under the direction of a Team Leader or Work Coordinator, the Data Entry Operator validates transaction information by accurately entering and reviewing data captured through the transport system. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, speed, and accuracy while processing high volumes of financial documents.


Key Responsibilities
  • Enter and validate transaction data with a high level of accuracy.
  • Achieve a minimum of 8,500 keystrokes per hour or maintain 55+ WPM with an error rate of 1% or less.
  • Perform 10-key by touch data entry.
  • Review and verify information from lead tickets, extraction tickets, vouchers, checks, and OCR-generated data.
  • Validate:
    • Received dates
    • Option numbers
    • Processor IDs
    • Payment amounts
    • Taxpayer Identification Numbers (TIN)
    • Name Control information
    • Tax codes and periods
    • Transaction codes
    • MICR line information from checks
  • Maintain knowledge of departmental production processes and quality standards.
  • Meet daily productivity and quality expectations.
  • Work effectively with team members, supervisors, and U.S. Bank personnel.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 year of experience in data entry, clerical, administrative, or item processing work.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong data entry and typing skills.
  • Basic clerical or administrative experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Ability to organize information and identify discrepancies.
  • Ability to interpret data and resolve exceptions.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry.
  • Ability to move between multiple work areas as needed.
  • Ability to use standard office supplies including a pen, marker, stapler, scissors, rubber stamps, and tape dispenser.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment
  • Fast-paced production environment.
  • Daily responsibilities may change based on workload and processing volume.
  • Must be comfortable performing repetitive, detail-oriented work while maintaining speed and accuracy.

Background Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete the following before starting:

  • Federal-level background check conducted by U.S. Bank.
  • Fingerprinting completed through First Advantage via Kelly Services.
  • Background processing may take 3–4 weeks.
  • Candidates cannot begin work until all background requirements have been successfully completed and cleared.
