Job description

Company Description

For 25 years, Level has developed marketing solutions for some of the world's most innovative brands. We believe the best solutions come from collaborative working partnerships with our clients. Whether an established brand, or a start-up, we believe in the power of creative strategy, design, and technology to solve business challenges.

Overview

We are seeking a digitally-focused Senior Copywriter with strong creative and journalistic writing expertise to join our team and support a couple of key technology/consumer electronics clients!

As a Senior Copywriter, you will craft compelling, on-brand communications that drive engagement, build brand affinity, and foster meaningful customer conversations. You'll collaborate directly with clients as well as internal Account, Strategy, Creative, and Technology teams to develop concepts and strategies aligned with client goals. You'll guide and execute cross-channel digital creative from initial concept through multiple rounds of refinement to final delivery. You may also serve as the day-to-day creative lead on ongoing projects on multiple brands.

Your work will include both quippy marketing and compelling narrative work across shortform and longform, B2C and B2B, site, social, and email... a little bit of everything. With a focus on messaging, language, and tone, you'll ensure that we deliver the right message to the right audience at the right time.

PLEASE NOTE: This role is based out of our San Francisco office and will require onsite engagement as dictated by project needs; a consistent onsite presence is not expected. Strong preference will be given to candidates who are local to the Bay Area (including San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, and similar surrounding locations) and willing to commit to an as-needed hybrid schedule. Candidates living in other markets who are willing to relocate or travel consistently on short notice to the Bay Area may also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Develop clear, creative, and engaging longform and shortform copy for campaigns across digital media.
  • Collaborate with creative leads and cross-functional teams to execute ideas for web-based, social, paid media, video, and email content.
  • Write in-depth creative and narrative content for landing pages, microsites, and digital experiences that extend messaging across the entire digital marketing ecosystem.
  • Generate original concepts and deliver polished, client-ready content.
  • Work alongside content strategists to interpret business goals and technical requirements into clear, actionable, and user-friendly copy.
  • Partner with experience designers to craft intuitive user flows and page layouts, always advocating for the best user experience.
  • Ensure tone, style, and messaging are consistent across all touchpoints and align with the client's brand voice.
  • Proofread a variety of deliverables-including wireframes, copy decks, and visual comps-for grammar, spelling, and consistency.
  • Integrate consumer insights into concepts and execution through collaboration with Strategic Planning.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of prior digitally-focused copy and content writing experience, preferably in an advertising agency environment; prior experience supporting technology, consumer electronics, finance, or healthcare clients preferred.
  • Broad experience across both creative, shortform, ad-style copywriting and longer, more narrative/journalistic storytelling.
  • Understanding of UX principles and how they inform copy.
  • Versatile writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and style across diverse brands and formats.
  • Strong knowledge of trends in digital marketing and the broader interactive space.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working collaboratively within cross-functional creative teams.
  • Excellent creative thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and design collaboration tools such as Sketch, Figma, and the full Adobe Suite.
  • A digitally-focused portfolio is required and should be submitted at time of application. Samples should include B2B and B2C writing for digital video, social media, websites, email, landing pages, banners, direct marketing, and similar channels.
