Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Field Operations Trainer is responsible for developing and implementing all training programs that support CityVet's facility operations. This includes ensuring all new hires and new acquisitions gain relevant knowledge to provide clients and patients with exceptional care in a timely manner.
It is the responsibility of Field Operations Trainers to train and support daily operations, quality assurance, compliance, human resources and clinical compliance to all assigned facilities
Please note that this position is based in Denver and regular weekly travel is an essential part of this position.
The target salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Create and maintain a "Train the Trainer" program to guide field implementation of new processes and procedures

  • Write, publish, and maintain the accuracy of all training materials and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including LMS content and assignments

  • Lead and develop training tailored to individual employee needs, learning styles, and disabilities to ensure knowledge retention; utilize in-the-moment role-playing and scenario-based training to improve comprehension

  • Develop and provide ongoing, remedial, and backup training (including contingency plans for system or electronic malfunctions) to ensure deadlines and operational needs are met

  • Serve as the face of CityVet operations training by providing in-person support (frequent travel) and hosting virtual training sessions

  • Develop, implement, present, and train on new policies, systems, and processes to enhance employee skills

  • Manage assigned compliance training for all of CityVet; generate, evaluate, and share compliance reports with Operations Field Leaders

  • Ensure training timetables are met within allotted timeframes and administer ongoing orientation and training surveys to evaluate effectiveness of materials, delivery methods, and presenters

  • Lead new location openings (approx. 20-25 per year), including weekly virtual meetings, on-site support, and training for new locations

  • Complete onboarding and orientation for Veterinarians and Practice Managers, covering company expectations, brand standards, and best practices

  • Support the Operations Support Team with assigned ticket coverage during peak times (including extended hours, weekends, and holidays) and assist in developing materials to reduce clinic ticket needs

  • Participate in leadership/Home Office training as directed and report on team performance, challenges, and successes to facilitate decision-making

  • Act as a liaison between clinics and CityVet senior leadership; encourage collaboration, resolve conflict, and foster a positive work environment

  • Partner with Operations Field Leaders and Medical Operations to identify and deliver training that advances team success, including CE opportunities and wet labs for veterinarians and support teams

REQUIREMENTS
  • Schedule flexibility and frequent travel (up to 25 weeks per year)

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field

  • At least 5 years of veterinary industry experience

  • At least 1 year of leadership experience

  • Strong Microsoft Suite, computer skills, and ezyVet or similar practice management software experience.

  • Financial: Understanding of and ability to read and interpret financial statements

  • Compliance: Knowledge of regulations governing veterinary clinics and understanding of state and federal safety standards

  • Communication: Highly experienced in public speaking and presentation skills

  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs to waist height

  • At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
