Job Overview

Plans and designs the organizations IT infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software both on-prem and in the cloud. Analyzes, develops, modifies, tests, and maintains the networking and compute infrastructure. Verifies and validates systems and ensures systems meet internal and external requirements. Ensures system availability meets or exceeds KPIs and SLAs, while continuously enhancing system performance and reliability.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for design, implementation, patching, and management of data center and cloud technologies including, Azure, Nutanix, and VMware
  • Responsible for design, implementation, patching, and management of networking, including LAN, WAN, wireless, Internet and virtual networks
  • Ensure uptime of critical business systems and infrastructure through monitoring and timely remediation of infrastructure issues
  • Responsible for implementation, patching and management of security appliances, including firewalls and information security services
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and recommendations for improvements on existing and new systems
  • Protect data assets and ensure back-up procedures meet or exceed our policies
  • Provide high-level design and support for disaster recovery of key systems
  • Lead projects and assist other teams with IT initiatives
  • Identify issues, evaluate trends, and anticipate requirements
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliance processes and requirements, including but not limited to Sarbanes-Oxley and comparable regulations
  • Design and support the monitoring, alerting and automation infrastructure for critical business systems and infrastructure
  • Responsible for user and identity management, in particular within Azure Active Directory, including group polices, OU structures, and domain services
  • Responsible for User Endpoint management, including PC and application deployment
  • Maintain organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing infrastructure technologies
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by: attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, participating in professional societies
  • Provide technical expertise, documentation, and training to other team members and IT teams
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer in a medium to high volume environment; Experience in designing and managing hypervisor technologies including Nutanix and VMware; Experience in designing and managing backup appliances, storage arrays, and server systems; Experience deploying and automating virtual machines both on-prem and in cloud infrastructure; Experience managing networking technologies, including LAN, WLAN. WAN and Internet and virtual networking preferably in Azure and Nutanix environments
  • Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of current cloud and on-prem compute technologies, hypervisors, networking, storage, and backups; Proficient in designing compute environments to meet best practices; Solid understanding of automation tools and deployment methods
  • Skills/Abilities: Specialist on complex and technical business matters relating to networking and compute infrastructure; May assume a lead role on projects and able to work effectively in an individual or team environment; Must be self-motivated and able to take a project from beginning to completion; Excellent documentation skills
  • Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in computer-oriented technical discipline or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification or extensive experience with the following technical platforms: Azure, Nutanix, Juniper (MIST), Palo Alto (Strata), Microsoft Active Directory and 365, Cisco (IOS), VMware, Hyer-V
Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $117,000 to $142,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
