Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000
The Role
We are seeking a Tax Accountant to join one of Charlotte's oldest and most respected CPA firms. Since 1978, we have provided high-quality accounting, tax, and business advisory services across the Carolinas and beyond. In this role, you will work closely with practice owners and managers to reduce the burden of tax regulations for our clients through precise preparation, proactive planning, and strategic consulting.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Preparation: Prepare accurate federal and state tax returns for individuals, diverse business entities, and larger corporations.
Planning & Projections: Assist in implementing tax planning strategies and financial projections developed to reduce overall client tax liability.
Client Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor, thinking creatively to help clients increase profitability and arrange their finances to their greatest advantage.
Compliance & Research: Conduct technical research to ensure full compliance with changing tax laws and assist in preparing documentation for IRS or state representation.
Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA license or tracking toward a CPA is highly preferred.
Skills: Strong analytical abilities, technical research skills, and familiarity with tax software.
