Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Developer with strong Python expertise to join our team in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in Snowflake Data Warehouse development, ETL/ELT processes, cloud-based data platforms, and Python scripting for data engineering solutions. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience working in enterprise data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable data solutions using Snowflake.
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and Snowflake.
  • Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and performance tuning strategies.
  • Implement data integration solutions from multiple structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Work closely with Data Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to understand business requirements.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python for data validation, transformation, and orchestration.
  • Optimize Snowflake performance including virtual warehouses, clustering, partitioning, and query tuning.
  • Implement security, governance, and data quality best practices within Snowflake environments.
  • Integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Support CI/CD deployments and DevOps practices for data engineering workflows.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide long-term scalable solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices and technical standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience in Data Engineering/Data Warehousing.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake.
  • Strong programming experience in Python.
  • Expertise in SQL and performance tuning.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Airflow, DBT, Informatica, Matillion, or Talend.
  • Knowledge of Spark, PySpark, or big data technologies.
  • Snowflake certification is a plus.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Banking, Healthcare, or Retail domain experience is preferred.
