Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer

Intro Summary
We’re seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer who thrives on solving complex data challenges and building scalable, enterprise‑grade solutions. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, analytical professional with deep SQL expertise and experience supporting data warehouses, analytics platforms, and batch‑processing environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL workflows across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
  • Support and enhance enterprise Data Warehouse architectures, including dimensional modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Develop and maintain Linux shell scripts for automation and batch scheduling
  • Work with Mainframe datasets and utilities to extract and integrate data
  • Build and support datasets and data models for IBM Cognos Analytics reporting
  • Partner with analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality data solutions
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
  • Advanced SQL expertise across DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts (ETL, dimensional modeling, data marts, OLAP)
  • Proficiency with Linux shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.)
  • Experience with Mainframe systems (JCL, datasets, utilities)
  • Hands‑on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools <<<<<<<<<<<
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and collaboration skills
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
