JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Telephonic Sales/Broker Support Representative FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DEPARTMENT: Sales 

REPORTS TO: Manager of Sales and Marketing 

JOB SUMMARY: Answer phones and enroll prospective members into Imperial Health Plans. When in the field conduct sales/educational seminars, self-generate leads and develop community-based partnerships. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Answer incoming calls and work to sell prospective members Imperial products and services using approved scripts. 
  2. Assist with broker inquiries and relate to ready to Sell status, Book of business requests, commissions inquires. 
  3. Go off-script when necessary, to build a relationship with potential members or answer any questions they have not addressed in the script.
  4. Advise prospective and current members by answering questions and addressing concerns about Imperial products and services.
  5. Update database/systems with new information every time a member calls, and back up data regularly to protect sensitive member information (PHI).
  6. Complete all enrollment forms and record logs to create accurate, detailed files for each member.
  7. In the field position: will cultivate, maintain, and build relationships with Imperial Health Plans customers, external business partners and the community served through telephonic, virtual, and face-to-face interactions with individuals and groups.
  8. Adheres to payroll policies and properly uses timekeeping system with minimal manual changes.
  9. Maintains regular and consistent attendance.
  10. Adheres to Compliance Plan and HIPAA regulations.

 MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Takes on special projects as needed.
  2. Performs other duties as assigned.

 standards set forth by governing entities.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous call center experience preferrable in the healthcare (Medicare/Medicaid) setting
  • Bilingual (Spanish) requested but not required 


 SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITY:

  • Ability to build community relationships, driving self-generated sales and meeting sales goals and metrics while working independently.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Positive and encouraging attitude with other sales representatives and adopts a team mentality.
  • Willingness and ability to read, write, speak, understand English and have the communications skills necessary to provide accurate information to residents and staff.
  • Willingness and ability to follow written and verbal direction in English.
  • Willingness and ability to maintain appropriate level of confidentiality and privacy.
  • Willingness and ability to interact professionally with all customers, members, and co-workers, individually and as part of a team.
  • Willingness and ability to effectively handle multiple items/tasks as required and adapt favorably to changing priorities.

 LICENSURE/CERTIFICATE/TRAINING:

  • California Life and Health License required (company will reimburse the cost of the license fee after 6 months of successful employment)
  • Valid state driver's license 


**Commissionable position as long as the employee maintains an active and valid CA Life & Health License.
