This role serves as the technical-commercial bridge between customers, sales, engineering, and operations, translating customer workflows and requirements into practical automation solutions that deliver measurable operational value.
Oceaneering is a global provider of engineered services and products, primarily to the offshore energy industry. We develop products and services for use throughout the lifecycle of an offshore oilfield, from drilling to decommissioning. We operate the world's premier fleet of work class ROVs. Additionally, we are a leader in offshore oilfield maintenance services, umbilicals, subsea hardware, and tooling. We also use applied technology expertise to serve the defense, material handling, aerospace, science, and renewable energy industries.Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related technical field
- 1-3 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, applications engineering, or system design within an industrial or automation environment
- Strong engineering fundamentals with the ability to translate operational workflows into practical technical solutions
- Comfortable engaging with customers to gather requirements and explain technical concepts clearly and professionally
- Proficiency with common engineering or proposal tools (e.g., CAD viewing, Excel-based cost models, technical documentation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct exposure to AGV, AMR, or industrial automation systems (internships, early career roles, projects, or co-ops count)
- Experience supporting technical proposals, system layouts, assumptions/exclusions, or risk documentation
- Familiarity with manufacturing, warehousing, or material handling environments
- Experience collaborating with crossfunctional teams (sales, controls, operations, engineering)
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to ~25-50%) and participate in onsite demos or customer visits
Working Conditions
Hybrid work role based in Houston, TX or Ft. Wayne, IN. Travel required 25%-50% within the United States.
Physical Activity / Requirements
