Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Psychiatric RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Acute inpatient psychiatric unit specializing in adult and geriatric mental health treatment and care,
• Adult program serves men and women ages 18 and older requiring 24-hour acute psychiatric care,
• Geriatric program is a short-term acute care unit for patients requiring close multi-disciplinary monitoring,
• Patients seen daily by psychiatrist and other mental health professionals,
• Uses sensory reduction tools for anger management, coping skills, and de-escalation,
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM,
• 13-week assignment with 36 or 48 hours per week accepted,
• Every other weekend required,
• Holiday coverage required as needed,
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals,
• Meditech EMR used,
Job Requirements
• Active RN license (Alabama State or Compact) - temporary or pending licenses not accepted,
• Associate's degree in nursing required,
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) required,
• CPI certification required,
• 2 years of RN experience required, though 18 months may be considered,
• 1 year of recent experience in psychiatric specialty required,
• NURSYS license verification required,
