โ€ข 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience with 1 months worked in the last 12 months.

โ€ข Travel experience is preferred.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: ICU skills: arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, care for s/p craniotomy patients, and TPA administration. Knowledge of cardiac drips and care for neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patients.

Special Requests: RTO requests: up to 7 days may be approved if the traveler extends the contract to accommodate.

Unit Details: Float pool patient populations include overflow and difficult-to-place med surg patients; oncology with immunocompromised, end-of-life, respite, palliative care, and chemo infusion patients; medical and surgical ortho including fractures, MVC, trauma, and Buckโ€™s traction; general surgery and trauma; pulmonology; vascular and bariatric surgery; neurology stepdown; cardiac stepdown; observation; and combined medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiac ICU patients. Critical care areas include lumbar drains, cardiac titratable drips, aquapheresis, bedside cardiac monitors, LifeLink, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pump patients. Travelers are not assigned CRRT and IABPs. Equipment includes Glucommander, cardiac monitors, Precision BBG monitor, specialty beds, alarms, bed and chair alarms, BiPap, ventilators, Alaris pumps, Virtual RN, and Virtual Patient Observer. Ratios: MedSurg days 1:5 but can increase to 1:6 in staffing crisis; MedSurg nights 1:6. ICU days and nights 1:2, can go up to 1:3 depending on acuity. HAU (PCU level) 1:3.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holiday expectation: 70% of holidays. If census is low, you may be asked to be on call, but this is rare. Med surg and critical care shift times are 7a-7p and 7p-7a; ER shift times may vary.

Floating Requirements: Floats to all med surg and critical care areas, including ED boarders; ICU and ER may be used as well.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
