Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through telehealth consultations, documenting a thorough case history from the initial assessment to the final treatment outcome.
  • Develop individualized treatment and recovery plans based on the unique needs of clients, ensuring they are evidence-based and culturally sensitive.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing effective therapeutic techniques to foster a therapeutic alliance.
  • Monitor and assess client progress throughout the treatment process, making adjustments to intervention plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to each client’s care.
  • Provide support and guidance to family members and caregivers, empowering them to assist clients in managing their mental health challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in mental health practices and integrate new findings into your therapeutic work.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, families, and groups experiencing a range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your approach will be client-centered, focusing on fostering an environment conducive to healing and personal growth.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
  • A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on empathetic interactions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental nature.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, preferably in a telehealth setting.
