Remote ESL Teacher (Part-Time) - Adult Learners | VR Language Platform
The Role
Teach English to adult professionals in engaging small group sessions using immersive technology.
IMMERSE is a language learning platform that helps adults build real-world fluency through live instruction and immersive technology.
We are seeking experienced ESL instructors to teach communicative lessons for adult learners using our immersive language learning platform.
Learners practice English in realistic environments such as meeting rooms, cafés, and workplace scenarios, helping them build confidence speaking English for professional and everyday communication.
This role is ideal for instructors who enjoy working closely with adult learners, facilitating meaningful conversation, and using innovative teaching technology.
Compensation
Compensation is region and experience-based. In many regions, rates fall within the $15-$20 USD/hour range.

What a Typical Session Looks Like
  • Facilitate structured English communicative lessons with adult learners
  • Guide learners through real-life scenarios such as meetings, travel, or professional communication
  • Provide feedback on pronunciation, grammar, and fluency
  • 40-minute sessions
  • Communicate proactively with the instructional team
Required Qualifications
  • BA in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or closely related field

OR
  • Bachelor's degree + English teaching certification (120 hour TESOL certificate/CELTA or equivalent) and extensive teaching experience

Additional requirements:
  • 2+ years of structured ESL teaching experience
  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Strong foundation in communicative or task-based language teaching
  • Demonstrated ability to develop speaking and listening skills intentionally
  • C1 English proficiency (CEFR) or Advanced High (ACTFL) equivalent or higher required.
  • Comfortable using technology and learning new platforms
  • Organized, reliable, and professional
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching Business English or professional communication
  • Proficiency in Spanish

To ensure class stability and consistency, instructors must meet the following:
  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) PC - Note: Macs do not work on our platform
  • Intel i5-1135G7 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500U or better
  • Intel Iris Xe / AMD Vega 7 or better
  • 8GB RAM
  • 10GB available storage
  • Ethernet connection required (Wi-Fi-only setups are not supported)
  • Minimum 50 Mbps download / 20 Mbps upload internet speed
  • Wired headset with built-in microphone
