Job description

Position Title
Pre-Registration Pre-Certification Specialist LeadDays - Full TimeRemotePosition Summary / Career Interest:The Pre-Registration Pre-Certification Specialist Lead is responsible for supporting the supervisor with the identification of patients who qualify for pre-registration to include all new patients and all return patients. This position serves as a resource and provides training to staff in collaboration with supervisor. The Pre-Registration Pre-Certification Specialist Lead assists staff to obtain proper identification to assure accuracy of demographic and insurance information and enters all information into the registration system.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Performs responsibilities of the Pre-Registration/Pre-Certification Specialist.
  • Assists staff daily with RTE technology in EPIC related issues.
  • Assists in training new hire orientation and continued training for pre-reg/pre-cert specialists.
  • Subject matter expert in pre-certification and pre-registration, advises specialist with escalations and problem solutions.
  • Escalates RTE technology in EPIC issues through experian via HITs tickets to ensure accurate eligibility responses.
  • Adds and identifies complex coverage issues.
  • Works Work Queue's when staff are on PTO or out (as needed)
  • Assists supervisor with Daily Call Log.
  • Assigns accounts when Pre-Registration Supervisor is out.
  • Maintains real time authorization database
  • Works on Virtual Registration Admin Work Queue
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • 3 or more years of experience admitting/patient registration, pre-registration & pre-certification, or patient accounting experience.
  • 2 or more years of customer service experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • 4 or more years of experience working in Epic.
