Job description

Job Summary:

They are seeking a Virtual Systems Engineer responsible for applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in technical planning, systems integration, and supportability analyses for complex solutions or products.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Create and maintain components of a virtual system.
โ€ข Troubleshoot, resolve, and document problems within virtual system in accordance with approved procedures to include: Verification of proper operation of the system.
โ€ข Optimizing and resolving issues associated with the virtualized environment.
โ€ข Optimizing and resolving issues with load cycling process.
โ€ข Review/correct and develop effective scripts in BASH, PowerShell, and Python to automate system load cycling and configuration procedure and provide user-friendly scripts to automate routine tasks.
โ€ข Provide inputs and review documentation pertaining to applicantโ€™s area of responsibility.
โ€ข You will be responsible for writing and submitting for review new procedures as required.
โ€ข Develop tools to expand insight into the virtual system operation and performance.
โ€ข Develop tools to improve provisioning of virtualized systems.
โ€ข Provide start up and shut down support of the development and deployed systems.
โ€ข Support delivery, installation, configuration and light-off of virtual system.
โ€ข Report status at internal and customer meetings.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข BS or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering discipline.
โ€ข This is an entry-level position.
โ€ข No prior work experience is required.
โ€ข Secret-level security clearance.
โ€ข US Citizenship is required in order to obtain a security clearance from the DoD.
โ€ข Proficiency with Linux Operating Systems.
Preferred:
โ€ข Working knowledge of Aegis Combat/Weapon Systems
โ€ข Working knowledge of bash/csh/PowerShell/Python scripting.
โ€ข Working knowledge of software defined networking principles and technologies (VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, etc.)
โ€ข Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)/RedHawk systems.
โ€ข Working knowledge of Virtual Machines (VM) platforms (i.e. VMware ESXi and vCenter, KVM/QEMU, etc.).
โ€ข Working knowledge of Cisco IOS and/or NX-OS network appliance operating systems.
โ€ข Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and YAML data serialization.
