Job Summary

The Experienced CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, modifying, and troubleshooting CNC programs to manufacture precision parts according to customer specifications. This role supports machine setup, optimizes machining processes, ensures product quality, and collaborates with machine operators to maintain efficient production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs based on engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Program and troubleshoot CNC machines while providing detailed instructions to machine operators.
  • Assist with machine setup and validate CNC programs before production.
  • Select, align, secure, and remove fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials safely.
  • Monitor machining operations to identify and resolve machining issues or tolerance deviations.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and 3D models.
  • Utilize lifting equipment safely during machining operations.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of CNC equipment.
  • Track production jobs and parts using manufacturing management systems.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following company safety procedures.
  • Work overtime or weekends as required.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of CNC programming experience preferred.
  • Experience with Mastercam programming software.
  • Knowledge of G-Code, M-Code, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience programming milling, turning, mill/turn, and wire EDM machines.
  • Ability to read blueprints and solid models.
  • Strong understanding of engineering and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
