Program Coordinator II
University of Alabama at Birmingham
The University of Alabama seeks a Program Coordinator II to support education and technical assistance programs for the Southeast HIV/STI Prevention Training Center. The Program Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating educational activities, clinical consultation and technical assistance to healthcare professionals and healthcare organizations to integrate state-of-the-science in comprehensive care for STI and HIV prevention. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Director II for the Southeast HIV/STI Prevention Training Center.
General Responsibilities
  • Under minimal supervision, coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for a defined department program (s), often of a large and/or complex nature.
  • Carries out established program objectives and directives.
  • Follows established guidelines or protocols.
  • Determines the best approach to accomplish assignments. May participate in program planning and in setting program objectives.
  • May supervise support staff.
  • May act as a communication liaison and special events planner.
  • Interfaces with outside resources such as volunteers, alumni, patients, other professionals in a defined field or with continuing education students.
  • May be responsible for adherence to program budget and/or other fiscal duties.
  • May assist with grant and contract preparation and submission.
  • May handle data management.

Additional Roles, Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate learning events for the Southeast PTC in a variety of formats for diverse healthcare audiences.
  • Collaborate with faculty educators to educate healthcare providers in STI screening, diagnosis, treatment etc.
  • Attend and actively participate in required virtual meetings, calls, in person events with the Southeast PTC, National Network of Prevention Training Centers (NNPTC), and other partners.
  • Complete and submit continuing medical education applications. Coordinate online event registration and evaluation: create outreach and promotional materials.
  • Help with production of annual progress reports, budgets, and budget justifications for funding agencies; monthly/quarterly/yearly reports and ad hoc reports as required.
  • Collect required participant information and evaluations from learning events and manage data entry.
  • Coordinate STD Clinical Consultation Network; conference support. Occasional conference attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate projects or programs throughout their lifecycle including project planning.
  • Ability to engage collaboratively with stakeholders; excellent relational and emotional intelligence skills and proven ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible to respond to new issues and opportunities as they arise.
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn systems or computer applications.
  • Experience or interest in sexual health, STI, HIV, and improving health equity Event coordination experience preferred

Hourly Range: $18.35-$29.80
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience required.
  • OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.
