Job description

​​The Registered Nurse Labor & Delivery coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.​ Our 'Mother's Place' LDRP unit consists of a 12-bed LDRP, two Operating Rooms and four Obstetric Emergency Department beds where nurses work with an established, very highly rated midwifery group.  This is a rare opportunity to join our long-tenured nursing staff as a PRN Registered Nurse on the night shift (7pm-7am).


Registered Nurse- Labor & Delivery 
Available shift- 7pm-7am
PRN commitment working two shifts per week and rotating weekends.

​Performs comprehensive assessments in OB triage for pregnant patients presenting with urgent concerns. Ensures timely evaluation, stabilization, and documentation in accordance with EMTALA regulations; initiates appropriate interventions and coordinates care regardless of admission status. 


​Prepares laboring patients for vaginal or cesarean delivery. Assists with positioning, monitoring, and emotional support during procedures, and provides immediate postpartum care to mother and newborn. 


​Observes maternal and fetal status using electronic fetal monitoring and other equipment. Reports changes, and documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in real time. 


​Maintains and operates L&D and OR equipment, including fetal monitors, surgical instruments, and neonatal resuscitation devices. Ensures sterile field setup, room turnover, and adherence to surgical safety protocols. 


​Participates in ongoing education and simulation drills for obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, hypertensive crisis, and shoulder dystocia. Demonstrates readiness to respond rapidly and effectively in alignment with unit protocols and evidence-based practices. 


What qualifications you will need:

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • (RN) Registered Nurse
    • (C-EFM) Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
    • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
    • 1 years registered nursing experience required
