The Virtually Integrated Care (VIC) Critical Care Nurse, Medical ICU (MICU) works as the catalyst for patient centered care by leading a well-coordinated care team. The VIC RN is at the center of innovation and a transformational, evidence based practice care model. The experienced RN in this role will anticipate and direct the care of the patient through evaluating health promotion, risk reduction and clinical decision-making. The Nurse assumes accountability for client care outcomes through the assimilation and application of evidence based practice to design, implement, and evaluate client plans of care in a virtual environment setting. This role functions as the center of coordination and communication for a multidisciplinary team. A high degree of professional competence and autonomy will be demonstrated in performing the roles of 1) clinician, 2) educator, 3) consultant/collaborator, 4) leader. The VIC RN will function as a dynamic change leader for this transformational care model. The role is facility based for completion of orientation and has the potential to transition to a remote role with successful implementation of the care model.

Hospital VIC Nurse will Support: Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center (1101 Bates Avenue, Houston, TX 77030)

Required

  • Bachelors in Nursing, BSN degree (or must be actively in pursuit of a BSN degree)
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • Three (3) years of RN Critical Care experience in an acute care facility 
  • Three (3) years of nursing preceptor experience 
  • Two (2) years in a nursing leadership role (Charge RN role applicable)
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred

Five Plus (5+) years of RN Critical Care experience in an acute care facility
