Job description

Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Portland, Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with an expectation of 36 hours per week. One overnight call is required for Trauma call, if on a specialty team.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of trauma experience. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills in a fast-paced environment and provide high-quality care to patients in need of surgical intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patient vitals and assist in administering anesthesia.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgical teams during procedures.
  • Ensure proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate patient records during pre-operative and post-operative phases.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
  • CNOR certification preferred.
  • Experience with Level 1 trauma preferred, with knowledge in various specialties including Ortho, Neuro, and ENT.
