Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with at least 2 years of OR experience, including ENT, trauma, and pediatric cases, for a 26-week travel contract in Portland, ME.

Details
  • Hospital-based Operating Room (OR) setting at the Bramhall Campus in Portland, ME
  • Procedures include laryngoscopy, sinus surgery, facial plastics and trauma, cochlear implants, oral surgery, complex head and neck cancer surgery, tonsillectomy, and tympanoplasty
  • Patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric
  • Day shift: 7:00 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM (36โ€“40 hrs/week); occasional weekend and on-call requirements
  • No routine floating within the unit; however, a 25-mile float policy between facilities may apply as needed
  • EMR: Epic
Requirements
  • Active ME or compact RN license required (pending license not accepted for RN positions)
  • Current BLS certification required; AHA certification must be completed prior to start if a non-AHA equivalent is submitted
  • PALS preferred but not required; AORN certification is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
  • Required experience in ENT, dental, plastics, pediatrics, and Level 1 trauma
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration

  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this at the time of consideration
  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and are subject to a reduced bill rate
  • Local candidates are not eligible for contract renewals or extensions
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum; approximately 3โ€“4 days per 13-week period is considered reasonable, subject to manager discretion
  • Use of AirPods, laptops, and personal cell phones on the unit is prohibited
