Position Overview

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our cosmetic plastic surgery practice. The APP will work closely with the plastic surgeon and clinical team to provide exceptional patient care throughout the cosmetic surgery journey, from initial consultation through postoperative follow-up.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, an interest in aesthetic medicine, and a commitment to delivering a high-quality patient experience.

  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and medical histories for cosmetic surgery and aesthetic procedures.
  • Evaluate patients and assist with determining appropriate treatment options in collaboration with the plastic surgeon.
  • Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound assessment, suture removal, dressing changes, and monitoring for complications.
  • Perform follow-up examinations and address routine postoperative concerns.
  • Assist the surgeon with office-based procedures and surgical care as appropriate.
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures, expected outcomes, risks, recovery, and postoperative instructions.
  • Support cosmetic and non-surgical aesthetic services within the provider's scope of practice and training.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, aestheticians, and other members of the practice.
  • Recognize and appropriately escalate postoperative complications or urgent clinical concerns.
  • Maintain a professional, compassionate, and service-oriented approach with every patient.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe, organized, and patient-centered clinical environment.

  • Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the applicable state.
  • National certification as an NP or PA.
  • Current BLS certification; additional certifications as required by the practice.
  • Previous experience in plastic surgery, dermatology, aesthetics, surgery, or a related specialty preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Professional appearance and a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented cosmetic practice.

Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $118,000 to $134,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
