Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced tactical aviation professional who has developed strong technical and integration skills through extensive handson work within the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE). This position supports the development, operation, and sustainment of critical simulation capabilities at JITTCN and plays a key role in delivering advanced tactics, training, and test (AT3) support to USAFWC/ACC.

This role is ideal for a candidate with operational aviation expertise who has also demonstrated the ability to test, integrate, and correct software and system behavior in complex simulation environments.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as an operational expert in 5thgeneration tactics, threat employment, and mission execution, ensuring accurate and realistic modeling within JSEN and associated platforms.
  • Provide handson technical support across JSEN, GRID, NGTS, FIAB, and battlespace environments, including integration, troubleshooting, and validation of system components.
  • Apply practical, experiencebased knowledge to develop, update, test, and correct models, entities, threat behaviors, and battlespace configurations.
  • Collaborate with government operators, engineers, and developers to ensure operational realism across all simulated environments.
  • Conduct operational analysis and mission effectiveness assessments using simulation tools.
  • Lead or support test events, integration activities, and mission execution as a trusted SME.
  • Contribute to trade studies, architecture discussions, and system improvements using operational judgment and simulationdriven insights.
What you must have
Required Experience & Education: 
  • 15 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR
  • 13 years relevant experience with a Master's degree; OR
  • 10 years relevant experience with a PhD/JD; OR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • Tactical aviation aircrew duties, especially in 5thgeneration platforms
  • Handson technical work within JSE, GRID, NGTS, FIAB, or similar M&S environments
  • Onthejob software testing, integration, troubleshooting, or correction
  • Experience updating battlespace configurations and JTB integration workflows
  • Leadership during test, integration, and mission execution operations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing operational and technical priorities
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Credintials:
  • Must have a current or active TS/SCI
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with 5thgeneration aircraft operations, tactics, or mission planning. 
  • Experience programming or modifying NGTS entities (onthejob or formal)
  • Experience with GRID development or GRID service updates
  • Prior involvement in system architecture or design improvement activities
  • Familiarity with Agile development or integration processes
  • Experience supporting SAP or AT3related efforts
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
