Job description

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Mobile UI Developer to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of best-in-class mobile experiences across iOS and Android. In this role, you'll partner closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to build intuitive, high-performance mobile applications used by millions of customers. You'll also serve as a technical leader and mentor, setting the standard for mobile UI craftsmanship across the organization.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of complex, high-quality mobile UI features across iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose)
  • Translate UX/UI designs into pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible mobile interfaces
  • Own the technical roadmap for mobile UI components, including reusable design systems and component libraries
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship to a team of mobile engineers, conducting code reviews and setting best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, UX designers, backend engineers, and QA to deliver seamless end-to-end mobile experiences
  • Champion performance optimization, smooth animations, and responsive UI across a range of devices and OS versions
  • Drive adoption of modern mobile development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated UI testing, and modular architecture
  • Stay current with the latest iOS/Android UI frameworks, tools, and design trends, and evaluate their applicability
  • Partner with accessibility and localization teams to ensure inclusive, global-ready mobile experiences
  • Participate in technical planning, sprint ceremonies, and architecture reviews, providing thought leadership on mobile UI strategy
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with 5+ years focused on mobile UI development
  • Deep expertise in either iOS (Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit) or Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, XML layouts), with strong working knowledge of the other platform
  • Proven track record of leading mobile UI projects from concept through production release
  • Strong understanding of mobile design patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture) and UI/UX best practices
  • Experience building and maintaining component-based design systems
  • Solid grasp of mobile performance tuning, memory management, and rendering optimization
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD tooling, and automated testing frameworks (XCTest, Espresso, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring engineers or leading a small team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter, Kotlin Multiplatform) is a plus
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA) for mobile applications
  • Experience working in an agile, fast-paced product development environment
  • Background in fintech, consumer apps, or other highly regulated industries
  • Contributions to open-source mobile UI libraries or design systems
