Job Title: Medical Scribe
Department: Clinic
Job Function: Collects information from patients in real-time during their visits to improve documentation and to make the process of treating patients more efficient by handling electronic health records and documenting visits.
Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree with pre-health career track preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy a plus
  • Skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Take notes during patient visits and documenting them in the electronic health records system
  • Learn about the medical process and using a team approach in patient supervision and documentation
  • Work with a supervising Physician to complete and submit medical records
  • Communicate with patients and supervising Physicians professionally
  • Complete all administrative tasks efficiently and helping the Physician take tests and give out medication
  • Help electronically prescribe medication for patients
  • Other duties as assigned.
