Compensation amp; Benefits:
STARTING: $23.05 per hour, paid weekly. -- Please note that all roles have a different pay rate. The starting rate in this department is $23.05.
Shift available, 12-hour: Nights (6:30 pm to 6:30 am)

Job Summary
  • Performs all Product Packer, Indexer Operators, and Responsibilities when the Product Packer, Index Operator, and Pull-away is unavailable.
  • To ensure that all products are coded and properly bagged.

Packers
  • Responsible for ensuring that each unit of product is coded and properly bagged before it is sent to shipping.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper count for shipping.
  • Responsible for putting the proper amount of packages in each case or basket for shipping.
  • Responsible for ensuring tray washer is stocked and functioning properly.
  • Remove for removing non-quality product from the line.
  • Reset or un-jam Forker- Muffin
  • Responsible for run off and re-wrap product.
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in work area and adjoining areas.

Indexer Operator
  • Visually inspect equipment for sanitary conditions prior to starting.
  • Index line for non-standard product and uneven distribution into slicer.
  • Make sure product has the properly forked.
  • Must be able to do Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks and hourly checks.
  • Must understand and do all variety change overs.
  • Clear out pack-stack when backed up.
  • Hand stack full trays if auto stacker is down.
  • Dump full barrels (trash, scrap) into proper containers.
  • Check dough schedule recap report for production run information.
  • Set up machines for variety according to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Put catch pans in place.
  • Ensure blue gloves are worn in supply to handle finished product.
  • Keep area clean, sweeping floor and emptying crumb catch pans as needed.

  • Empty baked rejects, and floor sweepings into proper waste containers.
  • Blow or brush (use proper color) off conveyors on machines during a variety change only and as needed.

  • Take empty stacks of trays to the tray wash.

  • Operates and makes necessary adjustments to auto stacker.
  • Break down stacks as needed to remove a broken tray.
  • Help hand stack trays when packer needs assistance.
  • Keep track of stacks on tally sheet and check code during run.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper count for shipping
  • Keep work area clean and sanitary; follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Responsible for maintaining good safety practices at all time.
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in work area and adjoining areas
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervision.
Specific Responsibilities Relating to Food Safety, Legality and Quality
  • Ensure that all coding is on each package.
  • Ensure that each unit is properly bagged.
  • Properly reads, comprehends, and completes required forms
  • Reports and takes necessary action to prevent food safety, legality, and quality problems from occurring.
  • Follows and enforces programs and procedures outlined in the Food Safety and Quality Manual to support compliance with the GFSI Standard and other third-party audits
Abilities Required
Have the ability to perform all jobs in Muffin and/or Bun make-up.
Able to lift 50 pounds. Able to stand for 8 hours a day. Able to communicate with other employees. Able to follow written and verbal instructions in a timely manner.
